Lenovo’s extendable laptop screen reaches new heights, as seen at CES Las Vegas
Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable laptop, seen at CES in Las Vegas, has a screen that extends upwards to provide more display area
Two years ago, Lenovo presented a concept notebook with a screen that you could expand out sideways. Now the company is heading in a new direction: upwards.
A prototype of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable on display at the CES tech fair in Las Vegas, which runs until January 10, can extend its display frame upwards at the touch of a button or by hand.
This enlarges the extendable OLED panel from 14 inches (35.5cm) to 16.7 inches, adding an increase in screen area of around 50 per cent.
Launching in mid-2025, the Thinkbook should make it easier to work with many documents, spreadsheets or program windows open at the same time, Lenovo says.
The Thinkbook Plus Gen 6 Rollable is just under 2cm thick and weighs a solid 1.7kg (3.75lbs). It also features Wi-Fi 7 and a Thunderbolt 4 interface. The brightness of the 120-hertz display is specified at up to 400 nits.
