1. Conspiracy Chocolate workshop

Work for your treats at a two-hour chocolate-making workshop by Conspiracy Chocolate on Sunday August 25, where you will be able to try your hands at the techniques to turn beans to bars.

Starting off with a bit of education on cacao’s history, characteristics and how cocoa beans are processed, the workshop then moves into the various steps involved, from winnowing and stone-grinding the beans to tempering and moulding chocolate.

Each participant will get to bring home four bars of their own handmade chocolate, packaged in Conspiracy Chocolate’s signature wrappers.

The Chocolate Lab, Unit A&B, 8/F, Block 2, Kingley Industrial Building, 33 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong. 2.30pm-4.30pm, August 25, 2023. Tickets at conspiracychocolate.com.

2. The Old Book Store

If you enjoy a cosy weekend with a good book and coffee, head to The Old Book Store in Causeway Bay, which invites customers to bring in a beloved book they no longer need and donate it in exchange for a cup of coffee. This month, the bookstore-slash-cafe continues its Haruki Murakami theme, highlighting works by the Japanese author.
