Muji, Sandro, vintage Rolexes: Hong Kong finance professional Justin Ng opens his wardrobe
When Justin Ng finds something he really likes, he doesn’t hold back: with one pair of slim-fit Acne Studio jeans, he owns them in eight different colours
Justin Ng was a banker before helping to launch Uber in Hong Kong and then working at one of Hong Kong’s top event-production companies.
He is now focusing on various projects, including his latest venture, a new kind of ATM that he is developing in China.
We take a look inside the polished wardrobe of one of the city’s most stylish men about town.
What Ng wears for work
“In my previous career as a banker I wore formal suits every day. Now that I’m running my own businesses it’s nice to wear clothes that are more casual and comfortable.”
Ng wears a pink denim jacket by Sandro, white T-shirt by Muji, blue 484 slim-fit chinos by J. Crew, and white Original Achilles leather sneakers by Common Projects.
“I have this Sandro denim jacket in multiple colours. I really like the fit and when I find something I like, I’ll get it in multiple colours. I wear these Common Projects all the time, as you can tell by the marks. I don’t mind that they’re a bit dirty – I think it’s cooler that way.
“I also have a collection of vintage Rolexes. Some are ‘borrowed’ from my father’s collection, some I bought at auctions. My first Daytona was a high school graduation gift from my dad, so that carries special sentimental value to me. Then I bought my gold Datejust when I got my first bonus from Goldman Sachs back when I was 21.”
