The organisers hope to capitalise on the presence of international collectors who will be attending Art Basel Hong Kong in the same week just across the border.

“We hope that when collectors from Beijing or Shanghai come for Hong Kong Basel, some of them will consider a stopover in Shenzhen,” says Hu Zijing, director of Art Week Shenzhen (AWSZ).

“Through this event, we want to create an opportunity for them to stay longer and thus contribute to the art ecosystem in Shenzhen.”
