A red-carpet party and interviews will be conducted before the event outside the main entrance to the venue. Stars including Psy, Super Junior, Big Bang, SISTAR and Wang Lee-hom will appear, with action star Jackie Chan as special guest.

Mama originated from the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF), which was launched in 1999 and soon became South Korea's largest music festival. In 2009, the event was renamed Mnet Asian Music Awards and held its first ceremony in South Korea under the new title, which was broadcast live to 10 countries across Asia.

Mama started its Asian tour in 2010, laying the groundwork for it to become Asia's major music awards ceremony. It was staged in Macau in 2010 and Singapore last year with the aim of reinvigorating the industry and bringing together K-pop fans.

Online polling for fans from Southeast Asia, China, South Korea, Japan, the US and other countries is being held until November 28.
