Ferrari's relationship with time is "complicated". Often it's a race against time to "deliver breakthrough after breakthrough". In the words of Matteo Torre, president and CEO of Ferrari Greater China, who clearly relishes the challenge, "Ferrari is always competing with time".

"Speed and acceleration are not just pieces of data, they reflect Ferrari's consistent efforts to deliver breakthrough after breakthrough."

Torre's passion for the fast lane is all too evident and his love for the marque with the Prancing Horse is unquestionable. "I have been with Ferrari for the last 15 years, [and] time flies. It has been a very exciting and enriching journey," says Torre, who oversaw the recent launch of Ferrari's 488 GTB, a rare model with a turbo that offers a performance that fiercely rivals the best naturally aspirated engines.

Based in Shanghai, Torre looks after the the mainland Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan markets. This means Torre is always on the road and time management is critical.

"Working in the automotive industry can be very hectic and very challenging. Time is very limited, so it's important to efficiently manage my time to balance the conflicting demands of time for work. I like to devote my entire focus to the task at hand - 100 per cent concentration, treating every second as if it were a whole minute.

Torre adds: "Time is the most precious and rare resource I have. I like living in the present and enjoying every moment with my family and friends in full. Making full use of each moment could culminate in astonishing achievements."
