Spoilt for choice: sing and be merry in Macau this summer
From the beats of a poolside dance party to performances from some of the region’s best-known Canto-pop artists, Macau is the place to be for fun and frolics this summer
Altira Macau – one of only eight hotels in the world to have received the Forbes five-star rating for eight years in a row – is marking its 10th anniversary with its “10 Oasis Nights” promotion. The package includes a night in a Waterfront View King Room offering spectacular views over the Macau peninsular, spa treatments and complimentary drinks at the Michelin-recommended restaurant Aurora.
Best known for her soft, smooth voice and R&B-style music, Janice Vidal is one of the best-selling Canto-pop singers of her generation. The 35-year-old, who is set to release an EP this August, will showcase her latest songs – and perform many of her best-known chart-topping favourites – at her Macau concert.
Since kicking off his latest world tour, A Classic Tour, in Beijing last October, Canto-pop king Jacky Cheung Hok-yau has been playing to audiences in cities across the region. In August, A Classic Tour comes to Macau for four nights. Cheung’s concerts – the singer is on tour for the first time since 2012 – are set on an in-the-round stage, and feature hits from his early years, such as Kiss Goodbye, Wishes, Amour and Love Is Over.
