Morning Clicks | Xinhua: Guangdong officials to declare assets online after Lunar New Year
Information to be made public will include details on investments, automobiles, and properties owned by officials' families.
What has remained unclear until now is how far the transparency efforts will reach, and whether personal assets will be declared internally or made accessible to the public.
According to Xinhua, the personal assets of the hundreds of cadres taking part in the experiment will be published online and in addition to official salaries, bonuses, fixed "subsidies" and all other income, will include property holdings, investments and details of automobiles owned by the family.
Officials in the three test locations have already declared this information internally, Xinhua said, and it is being analysed and prepared for the public now.
