Heavyweights race in for charity premiere of Streep's Iron Lady
What are James Bond, Mission: Impossible and even Transformers movies without the adrenaline-inducing muscle cars?
One of the latest films to hit local screens, which profiles one of Britain's most powerful women, highlights not only 'the lady' but also 'the car'.
Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar hosted a charity premiere of The Iron Lady on Tuesday at the AMC cinema in Pacific Place.
The film stars three-time Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep as former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher - the role that earned Streep her third Oscar.
Jaguar sponsored the charity premiere in aid of the Rotary Club of Wan Chai. The carmaker donated HK$138,500 to a project run by the club that is aimed at restoring and maintaining stilt houses occupied by the elderly in Tai O on Lantau Island. Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah presented the cheque before the screening.
The guest list also included a string of powerful local women, including businesswoman Pansy Ho Chiu-king, Civic Party lawmaker Tanya Chan and TVB executive Virginia Lok Yee-ling.
