Troubled marriages seem to have been a staple of entertainment news headlines recently. Model Balia Chan is one of the latest victims of rumours that her marriage is unravelling.
Chan, along with fellow models Irene Wang Yuen-yuen and Tais Fortes, presented American luxury jewellery brand David Yurman's latest collection at The French Window restaurant in the IFC Mall last week. Chan did not deny that a divorce was looming, but said she was still friends with her husband.
Jessica Jann, Wang's cousin, was also modelling at the event, saying she hoped to make a name for herself in the industry.
Asked about recent revelations of young women being forced to have indecent shots taken for modelling jobs, Wang said it was important new models did not become victims of their own innocence.
She advised girls entering the industry to learn how to avoid putting themselves in vulnerable situations and to check the background of modelling agencies.
