Event
Macquarie hosted the second of its bi-annual China Commodities Conference in Beijing and Shanghai in October last year. More than 25 corporate leaders and consultants spoke on topics related to the automobile, mining and minerals, and property industries. A tour to Nanjing was organised to inspect a copper and wire rod plant and to visit the Nanjing City Planning Centre. A visit to the Shanghai World Expo was also organised.
Objectives
The event has been held twice a year since 2005, and aims to provide industry and corporate institutional investors globally with a contemporary update on the emerging themes and issues within the industry, and an overview of the Chinese economy.
Measures
Apart from finding industry leaders as speakers, in order to ensure that all attendees were able to fully enjoy the Macquarie level of service, the number of conference attendees was deliberately kept below 100.
