A long-running Legislative Council inquiry into former top housing official Leung Chin-man is complete and the committee's report will be tabled to the legislature on December 8. Leung was hired by New World China Land soon after retiring from the civil service in 2007 with the approval of Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue Chung-yee. Yue's decision was heavily criticised because Leung had previous connections with the property developer. People familiar with the select committee inquiry - which involved 90 meetings, evidence from 24 witnesses and 23 public hearings - expect both Yue and Leung will be under fire for their roles in the affair.
