A total of 6,561 overseas and mainland companies had offices in Hong Kong as of June 1, up 2.6 per cent from a year ago, a government survey showed. The increase meant there were 164 more offices than at the same time last year. The number of local offices increased the most, up 3.8 per cent, or 106 offices, to 2,923. There was an increase of 33 regional headquarters, or 2.6 per cent, to 1,285, while there were 25 more regional offices, up 1.1 per cent to 2,353, the Census and Statistics Department's annual survey found.
