Man admitted to hospital for protection

A 19-year-old mentally disabled man who jumped onto a track at Ngau Tau Kok MTR station on Monday was admitted to Kowloon Hospital yesterday because a doctor feared he might leave home and injure himself. The Social Welfare Department said a social worker was assigned last year to follow the case of the man, who was waiting for a place in a day activity centre - and was still waiting because demand was strong.
