The Kassia Men's Choir is making an interesting offer to Hong Kong guys with voices. If you can sing, they would like you to audition for the group, but if you don't make it, you can still see them in concert for half the price.
The boys' next gig is a Tennessee-themed show, Walkin' in Memphis, scheduled for April 20. The male unit of Bethan Greaves' vocal clan wants to add some new singers and has come up with this unusual offer to entice more lads to sign up.
Anyone who enters the recruitment auditions can get tickets to the show for HK$110.
The coming gig will be a mix of old blues and jazz tunes from Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, plus a sprinkling of more contemporary hits like the Marc Cohn hit after which the show is named.
Potential new members can audition at any time, but the sooner the better as far as rehearsals and practice sessions are concerned. The process of auditioning only requires five minutes, and as Greaves noted, they are more than just a singing group: 'It's a fantastic social get-together too.'
