As if Coldplay wasn't enough of a concert attraction on its own, they've added another very cool band for their coming Hong Kong gig. As special guests on the Viva La Vida tour hitting the AsiaWorld-Arena on March 25, indie-rockers Mercury Rev (pictured) have now been added to the bill. Since the mid-1980s, the group from Buffalo, New York, have been critical darlings and alternative rock heroes despite barely making a dent on the charts.
Obviously, Chris Martin and band are big enough fans to make them the opening act on their Asian tour. For a taste of the Rev sound, their recent album, Snowflake Midnight, and a free MP3 album of instrumentals are available from the group's website. There aren't many tickets left for the concert, so check with HK Ticketing and Tom Lee outlets for info.
