Fung shui master Tony Chan Chun-chuen, who claims to be the former lover of the late Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum, has accused her siblings of falsely claiming they have no personal interest in the fate of her HK$100 billion estate.

He said it would be wrong to assume that the brother and sisters of the tycoon were not 'interested in their own pockets', but only interested in the welfare of the Chinachem Charitable Foundation, which they control.

In a statement issued last night through a PR company, Mr Chan said: 'I would like to mention that I keep hearing ... that Mrs Wang's siblings are only interested in the welfare of the charity, and have no interest in personally benefiting from Mrs Wang's estate. This is quite wrong.

'The idea that Dr Kung [her brother] and Nina Wang's sisters are not interested in their own pockets is simply incorrect.'

Mr Chan claims to have a will that leaves Wang's entire estate to him. Chinachem says it was left everything in a will from 2002. The court battle to settle the issue is set to get under way on April 25 in a marathon hearing that could cost as much as HK$50 million.

Mr Chan also said he did not believe a rumour that tycoon Joseph Lau Luen-hung had injected HK$30 million into the cash-strapped Chinachem.

'Sometime before Chinese New Year, I had heard from someone that Joseph Lau wanted to become involved as a financial backer to the charitable foundation. However, I did not believe it then and I don't believe it now.
