The US Department of Homeland Security is examining confiscated film footage shot by two Hong Kong journalists who prompted a security alert on a train from New York on the sixth anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks last week.
The pair, producer Simon Yu Sai-man and his freelance cameraman, Yu King-wan, were in New York to make a programme for RTHK on Hong Kong designers.
They were reported to police as acting suspiciously when they began filming on a New York-New Jersey transit train on Tuesday.
The train interior is the work of New York-based designer Eric Chan, who will feature in the programme Designers Abroad.
The train was held at New Jersey's Princeton Junction for about an hour in the evening rush hour. All passengers were asked to remain on board while police investigated.
The pair returned to Hong Kong on Friday night.
