A 55-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he tried to pick up some dollar coins and was hit by a bus in Mong Kok yesterday. Police said a KMB bus heading to Tuen Mun was travelling northbound in the slow lane of Nathan Road. When the bus pulled to a stop at Fife Street at about 4.30pm, it knocked down the man, who stepped out onto the road to recover some coins. The man, surnamed Lee, was in a coma when he was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital. He was in a serious condition last night. The bus driver, 52, passed a breathalyser test.
