Two marine police vessels collided in the Tolo Channel last night, injuring three officers.
The accident happened just before 8pm near Fung Wong Wat to the east of Plover Cove Reservoir, Tai Po.
The vessels were from the marine north division of the Outer Waters District.
The officers were taken to Prince of Wales Hospital. Two were admitted on stretchers wearing oxygen masks. The third entered hospital unaided with injuries to his left arm and right hand. The hospital said one was in serious condition and the other two were stable.
Following the accident, a large group of firemen and police officers were on alert at the marine divisional headquarters in Ma Liu Shui where the two vessels were being examined.
Last September, a marine police vessel on its way to Lamma Island to pick up a body crashed into an anchor buoy off West Kowloon, injuring two police officers and five workers from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
