Ocean Park and the Victoria Harbour most identify Hong Kong, according to a survey of more than 2,000 youngsters.
In a poll conducted by the Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, youngsters rated the two landmarks joint first on a list of 10 most emblematic symbols in the city. The survey polled children aged six to 16.
Both Ocean Park, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and Victoria Harbour, whose preservation and development have been subject to criticism, were favoured by 85 per cent of those polled.
The Tsing Ma Bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge, came a close second in the poll, followed by the Chinese white dolphins, which are commonly sighted in the western waters off Hong Kong.
The other symbols in the top 10 were Chinese tea cafes, dai pai dong, egg tarts, pineapple buns, Bruce Lee, egg paste and Mong Kok.
Analysing the results, the association's supervisor, Tsang Kwong-yuen, said Ocean Park topped the list as the theme park was a great place for children to have fun.
