Five people have been arrested in connection with a wounding case in which an alleged triad boss was threatened with a pistol inside a Tuen Mun grocery store in June last year.
Police said the four men and one woman, aged 17 to 52, were arrested at Lok Ma Chau, Tuen Mun and Tai Po yesterday and were being questioned overnight.
In the early hours of June 12, a man walked into a grocery shop in San Sau Street, Leung Tin village, pointed the weapon at the victim's chest and pulled the trigger but the gun failed to fire.
The victim put up a struggle with the gunman, while his friend scuffled with the lookout. The assailants fled after a brief tussle.
The alleged Sun Yee On gang leader, 50, who was watching a World Cup soccer match at the time with friends, suffered minor injuries to his left arm.
A magazine loaded with four rounds of ammunition and a single bullet were found on the ground outside the shop.
