Chief executive is our only hope, says family six years after autistic boy vanished
Six years may have passed since 15-year-old autistic boy Yu Man-hon disappeared across the mainland border, but for the family he left behind, time has stood still.
Today, exhausted by a search that has ended in one heartbreaking disappointment after another, Man-hon's mother, Yu Lai Wai-ling, has placed her last hopes in Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.
'At midnight on the sixth anniversary of when Man-hon went missing I sent a letter to the chief executive asking him to discuss the case with mainland authorities next time he meets them,' she said.
'I want to sit down with Mr Tsang in person. My only hope is for him to speak about the case or to write a personal letter to the mainland authorities.
'If the request comes from him, they will take it seriously.'
