Do all you online wargamers out there ever feel that playing games on the internet is just too unreal? Ever feel like you could do with something more solid?
Fun Atelier is the answer to your prayers. Not only is the store a collector's dream, it also acts as a gathering place for tabletop wargaming fanatics. Tabletop wars involve two players or teams facing each other with miniature soldiers. Players fight to eliminate their opponent's forces, gaining points for each soldier struck down.
A basic starter pack, with 10 to 20 soldiers, costs around $280. An advanced pack, containing five gold playing pieces - worth more points - costs between $300 and $380. Boxed sets come with background storylines, each of which is set in a unique universe. Fun Atelier staff are happy to teach customers how to make and paint miniature soldiers free of charge. They also have painting services for a fee of up to $300.
The store stocks mostly fantasy and futuristic battle games from the Warhammer (from $200 to $390) and The Lord of the Rings series ($210). It also organises monthly events for customers and hobbyists, who are welcome to use the 'battlefields' in the store free of charge.
