HONG KONG STARS SING FOR THE RINGS
Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Alan Tam and other Hong Kong entertainers are hitting the studio to record a pop song to promote the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The song, which will be sung in Putonghua and called Olympics Beijing will not be the official theme song for the games. Hacken Lee, Shirley Kwan, Andy Hui, William So and Jordan Chan are also involved in the project.
LONDON ON LOOKOUT FOR DEFROCKED PRIEST
Runners in today's London Marathon will have to have their wits about them when they cross Tower Bridge in case they get attacked by the infamous Cornelius Horan, the defrocked Irish priest who grabbed the leader of the Athens Olympic marathon, Vanderlei de Lima, when he was only four miles from the finish. Horan's written request to 'dance' at today's event was rejected by race organisers so he has announced he will stage a protest, apparently planning to bring some message from the prophets about Queen Elizabeth. Although he has a long history of disrupting sporting events, including the 2003 Silverstone Grand Prix, police have not sought a barring order against him this year.
