Mr Incredible and his cool-as-ice buddy Frozone make a formidable super tag team in the video game The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer, published by California firm THQ.

The game begins at the conclusion of the film The Incredibles, by Pixar Animation Studios. The Underminer emerges from his underground world and threatens to wreak havoc on the residents of Metroville.

The first The Incredibles video game was the best-selling new game title in 2004 in the United States, according to market research firm The NPD Group. It allowed flexible role playing, in which a player can try on the superpowers of each family member.

But the follow up, Rise of the Underminer, limits that role playing to Mr Incredible and Frozone, who are called on to save the day and do battle against the Underminer and his robot minions in his vast underground hideout.

In single-player mode, a gamer can switch characters at any time. In the co-operative mode, another player can jump in and out of play and change from one character to the other at any point.

That set-up proves useful in situations where the players must solve puzzles requiring the skills of Mr Incredible and Frozone. The beefy Mr Incredible uses brute force against his enemies, while the sleek Frozone depends on his icy powers.

Mr Incredible's repertoire includes a professional wrestling move called the 'incredi-slam'.
