Everything is big with Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, published by interactive games giant Ubisoft.
It became the largest movie-licensed launch in video game history, following a worldwide release on all major console platforms in the fourth quarter last year. That ensured it would be one of the top-selling titles in the holiday season.
Players find the emotional tension of the film pushed to greater depths in the action-adventure game - from the jungles of Skull Island to King Kong's last stand on top of the Empire State Building in New York.
The game is a worthy adaptation of the new King Kong movie. The storyline and the characters' mannerisms reflect those in the film.
Players will be immersed in contrasting perspectives. As the game progresses, a player will alternate between writer Jack Driscoll in the first person and King Kong in third person.
Playing as Jack, a player uses various weapons, including spears, to fight creepy creatures and flesh-eating dinosaurs. Weapons can be transferred from another character to Jack by pressing the E button repeatedly. This feature is useful when Jack runs out of arms. A player gets to monkey around when playing as the gigantic ape - climbing walls and swinging from one branch to another. On the ground, there are enemy dinosaurs to fight.
As the action shifts to New York, the graphics for the city are not as impressive as in the jungle scenes.
