The Chelsea home dressing room is the lap of luxury, a veritable five-star affair. Spacious, well lit and full of all the comforts.
Each player has an air-conditioned locker so they get a blast of cool air when they stand in front of it. And each locker has a secure jewellery drawer 'for that precious bling' as tour guide Wes Barton describes it.
'But almost as important is the socket for their hair dryers, a vital tool for each player,' Barton jokes. 'Did you know that two Chelsea players have it in their contracts that they be allowed 10 minutes hair blowing time on match day? Can you guess who they are? It's John Terry and Frank Lampard.'
Says Barton: 'John Terry is very much the leader. Terry gives the team talk just before they leave here, too. Jose Mourinho is always out in the dugout five minutes before the team come out. Once he's done with his tactical talk he leaves the motivational speech to Terry.'
