INTO ITS 21ST year of operations, APLF Fashion Access has come of age as a prime event that provides thousands of buyers from around the world with key products such as handbags, shoes, leather clothes and travel goods.
The show's wide range of goods from more than 400 local and foreign exhibitors set it apart from other fashion fairs, said senior event manager Perrine Ardouin.
'Our niche is Asia Pacific and we are still the main way to access China for some European and American buyers,' she said. 'They also go [to China] to buy, but at our fair they can find a much wider range of products. Buyers can't always find the variety and quality of products at our show in China.'
While the chief focus of the show was fashion for next spring and summer, buyers also had the opportunity to see some winter and autumn goods, she said.
'It's true the main trade shows are held twice a year, but people are continuously looking for products and buying, and they have to travel a lot,' Ms Ardouin said.
The organiser hopes to give exhibitors and buyers more opportunities to make contact by listing sellers on its website and helping with targeted e-mails translated into relevant languages for local markets.
