Filmart is a three-day get-together for Hong Kong filmmakers, distributors and actors from all over the world.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council says it will 'promote Hong Kong as a regional hub for distribution and production of film, TV programmes and entertainment-related products in Asia Pacific'.
Entertainment ambassador Tony Leung Chiu-wai took centre stage at yesterday's opening of the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market.
The acclaimed actor said he hoped to promote Hong Kong movies to the world.
'I am not a professional salesman. I am a professional actor. I will introduce Hong Kong movies to the world ... [by showing] how we can be creative and efficient when producing these films.'
When asked why he has yet to start working in Hollywood, Leung said: 'It's not that I am not going to Hollywood, I am not really concerned with location.
'The only thing I am concerned with is a good script and a good director. I don't care where it happens.'
