Hewlett-Packard's Concept PC II, which had its Asia unveiling in Hong Kong yesterday, reflects the company's vision for corporate computing, according to Gerhard Schiele, HP's Asia-Pacific regional marketing manager for commercial desktops.
The firm's second Concept PC model has been designed with Intel and the help of customer feedback. It is not for sale.
Only four exist and they were assembled at a cost of US$5,000 to US$6,000 each.
'We will make PCs incorporating some of the innovative ideas you find with this Concept PC, but it is really about finding that balance for the right price-point and customer feedback,' Mr Schiele said.
The Concept PC II is a head-turner, with HP engineers designing the machine to save space while not compromising on power.
It features state-of-the-art technology - a 45cm liquid crystal display, a CD-rewritable drive, integrated Bluetooth, Pentium 4 processor, an integrated Webcam, wireless keyboard and mouse and 48-gigabyte hard disk.
