'An article entitled 'Search for one who would be king' (South China Morning Post, July 1, 2000) wrongly suggested that Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk is not the father of Prince Norodom Sihamoni. The Post confirms that this statement is untrue. The Post apologises unreservedly to His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia, to Her Majesty Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia and to their son his Royal Highness Prince Norodom Sihamoni. The Post would like to assaure Their Majesties the King and Queen of Cambodia and their son HRH Prince Norodom Sihamoni that any distress caused was wholly unintentional, and is deeply regretted.'
