"There are lots of companies well-known in only one or two product categories, but Bull Will is able to provide all power-management solutions," says chairman and CEO Peter Ho.

These solutions give Bull Will's clients in personal computers and related industries a competitive edge in terms of cost efficiency. This advantage is sharpened by the company's expertise in materials and manufacturing processes, which enables it to offer the lowest possible total cost. Products such as headphones, chargers for mobile phones and laptops, batteries, and reactors and storage systems for solar power all rely on this expertise.

Bull Will's significant investments in engineering research and development allow it to expand its product range into other industries. The company supplies power-management products for hybrid cars to major automotive companies and is involved in development projects for electric cars and buses in the region. Bull Will is also growing its business in components for television set-top boxes and the mainland's electronics accessories market, which includes fast and wireless phone chargers.

The company's transformation is particularly evident on the mainland, where it has opened six factories in the past two years. The company welcomes investments from partners that can help access the mainland's industrial networks and are able to contribute know-how. It is also open to mutual investment partnerships with small companies.

"We're starting our growth in China because the No 1 in China today is likely to be the No 1 in the world," Ho says. "Bull Will has the ability to be the No 1 in our industry in five years."
