Carelian Caviar carves luxury niche in Asia
Discovery Reports
The best reason to enjoy luxurious caviar is the knowledge that it comes from the finest sturgeons nurtured in pure freshwater, meticulously prepared without additional preservatives and only blended with 3.5 per cent of Himalayan salt.
Carelian Caviar answers to the cravings of the health savvy and environment-conscious international market. The company operates fully controlled indoor recirculation system facilities to raise carefully selected Beluga and Siberian sturgeons in fresh and natural lake water.
"We clean the water physically and biologically," says Carelian Caviar managing director Markku Pättiniemi.
In doing this, Carelian Caviar is able to avoid the muddy taste that is prevalent in caviar farmed in outdoor ponds. Carelian Caviar's farm in the Savonia region produces between six and 10 tonnes a year under a sustainable operating environment. Harvesting of high-quality caviar started in 2011, with strict packaging and delivery standards.
Producing and exporting under the strict controls of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, Carelian Caviar is one of the few suppliers accorded a green light by the World Wildlife Fund.
Carelian Caviar supplies high-end restaurants and gourmet shops in Europe.
