Reverend Dr Aristarchus Sukarto, rector of UKRIDA, is the catalyst behind the university's five-year transformation.

Emphasising human resource development, Sukarto is sending his academic staff to top universities throughout Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia to obtain doctorate degrees in health science.

UKRIDA has re-oriented its computer science, engineering, psychology, management and economics departments towards health science development.

"I would like to make health science the trademark of the university," Sukarto says. "This will differentiate UKRIDA from other universities."
