Owners of the Chinese version of the Nintendo Switch can finally buy more than just one game in the country. Tencent, the console’s local distributor, has received government licenses to launch two more Switch games: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey.

It’s been more than three months since the Switch officially hit shelves in China. But until now, the only game officially available in the country was New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. The dearth of offerings prompted complaints from fans, partly because others who purchased imported consoles through third parties have access to a much wider selection of games. Last week on Nintendo Switch’s Weibo account, one popular comment read: “Being a national martyr is really exhausting… I’m about to give up.”
One Switch games that has recently soared in popularity still isn’t officially available in China, though. Gamers who are trying to stay healthy at home amid the viral pandemic are turning to copies of Ring Fit Adventure sold by online scalpers. Demand is so high that even fake controllers are in short supply.
